Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The AlphaRefuge™ 2100 Series system Refuge Call Center(s) shall be Alpha Communications® RCC2505CS (5-station) or RCC2510CS (10-station), or approved equal.

The Refuge Call Center(s) shall be Surface Mount type and shall be heavy-duty steel in a powder coated finish, with twist lock closure. The cabinet shall be able to accept a Fireman's Lock (not provided by Alpha Communications®). The Refuge Call Center(s) shall contain a built-in battery back-up and charger circuitry and shall be programmable to call out on a telephone line to a 911 call center or other emergency call locations. The RCC2505CS shall be capable of connecting with up to five (5) and the RCC2510CS shall be capable of connecting with up to ten (10) of the RCB2100 series Refuge Call Boxes

The Refuge Call Center(s), shall be IBC, NFPA and ADAAG code compliant, and shall also be Elevator Code compliant.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and building codes.

RCC2505CS / RCC2510CS Refuge Call Centers (AlphaRefugeâ„¢ 2100 Series)

The Alpha Communications® RCC2505CS (5-station) and RCC2510CS (10-station) Refuge Call Centers are used with the AlphaRefuge™ 2100 Series Area of Refuge system, and are Surface Mount type built into a lockable painted cabinet. They are used with the RCB2100 Series Refuge Call Boxes.

The RCC2505CS and RCC2510CS Refuge Call Centers are powered by connecting to 120VAC power, with the supplied power supply that provides 24VDC power.

The RCC2505CS and RCC2510CS Refuge Call Centers come standard with a built-in back-up battery and charging circuitry.

Only one (1) PWR2410A power supply is needed per system, when using Refuge Call Boxes that are "remote powered" (suffix-'R').

  • Install the Refuge Call Center in a central location on the first floor (wall mount) or in an area approved by the local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction)
