The Auxiliary Relay(s) shall be Alpha Communications® / Golmar model SAR-12/24, or approved equal. The SAR-12/24 shall be built into a rugged high impact ABS plastic case, and shall be powered by the 12VDC to 18VDC provided when an apartment handset or monitor is called from an entry station. Contractor shall furnish the proper number of SAR-12/24 units, depending upon system requirements.
Low voltage wiring shall be used and positive screw terminal connectors shall be provided for installation wiring. The SAR-12/24 shall be mountable right to the surface of the wall, or behind the wall in the apartment, behind the monitor or apt. station.
When needed to activate a hearing-impaired strobe, contractor shall furnish and install the model# LI424B and required 24vdc power supply.
Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and building codes.
The Alpha Communications® / Golmar SAR-12/24 Auxiliary Relay is used only with the GB2, Platea, Tekna and/or Szena series intercom and/or video-intercom systems. The SAR-12/24 is activated when the GB2, Platea, Tekna and/or Szena station is called from a door entry station, and provides a dry contact relay closure to activate an auxiliary signaling device.
Typically these relays are used to trigger the LI424B hearing-impaired strobe, or similar device.
