NC369 On-Site UHF Paging System Transmitter/Control Unit

Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The UHF on-site paging system transmitter/control unit shall be Alpha Communications® / TekTone NC369or approved equal. The NC369 shall support the NC300 (or NC300II) Nurse-Call Systems, TC400 Nurse-Call Systems or TC500 Emergency-Call Systems. The paging information shall be supplied to the unit at 9600 baud and shall be transmitted to the radio pagers at 1,200 baud on 457.550 Mhz. Information such as call type, room location, and priority level, shall be transmitted to the pagers in its entirety. LEDs shall indicate transmitter activity.

The paging system shall support up to 1,000 pager IDs and shall have adjustable transmission strength of up to two (2) watts (site survey recommended).

Contractor shall observe all local an national electrical and building codes.

NOTE: Paging is an ancillary method of call annunciation, and is not intended to replace the primary annunciation provided by the Nurse-Call or Emergency-Call (or other) system.

NC369 On-Site UHF Paging Transmitter/Control Unit

The NC369 UHF Paging Transmitter receives alphanumeric messages and patient call information via serial interface and transmits the information directly to pagers. Information is sent at 9,600 baud to minimize bottlenecks. Call type and location are determined by the system supplying information to the transmitter. Up to 1,000 pager IDs are supported. Battery backup is also available. Programming is simple using a PC or laptop and web based programming screens. Dip-switches are also available on the unit for minimal function onsite setup. The Unit is designed for on site paging requirements only and not for long range.

The range of the system will largely depend on the site and location of the transmitter unit. To determine the exact coverage, conduct a site survey. For estimation purposes of a properly located NC369a range of up to one mile can be expected, under ideal conditions. The unit is supplied with a 1/4 wave BNC-terminated, antenna to provide coverage that meets most requirements. The optional CA133 Antenna is suited for installations that require good building penetration and range. On average, the CA133 Antenna adds about 25% to the transmission footprint, and because it comes with approximately 10 feet of cable, in can be mounted in more locations.
