NC306 FUNCTIONS

A major component of the NC300II system, the NC306 master station provides the user interface to respond to calls, issue staff requests and alter room programming status to accomodate differing patient needs. The master station allows for room and staff communication by open voice (loudspeaker) or by handset for additional privacy, or for use in noisy master locations. Master function buttons are provided to select system functions as follows:

RESET
(black) Terminates most operations
STAFF
(green)  Enters a nurse service request or shows locations of staff presence if SF350B or SF250 (nurse only) staff presence stations are installed.
PRIORITY
(yellow) Enters an urgent staff emergency request.
PAGE
(violet) Initiates paging operations.
FOLLOW
 (orange) Initiates nurse-follower operations.
TALK
(white) Press to speak, release to listen when using loudspeaker for communications.
ZONE
(blue) Allows Zone assignments.
PRIVACY
(red) Sets Privacy On or Off.

Note: In programming modes, these keys are also used for various programming functions. Additional programmable functions include set station priority, set privacy, zone assignments, view station configurations, set system time, set system date, paging, system configuration, and system re-initializationThe master station is also equipped with a volume control that adjusts the incoming voice communication, beep switch that controls the short tone signal heard when the keypad is in use, call lights that indicate low, medium and high priority calls, selected zones and stations, and for selected menu functions. The master stations also provide a serial port for connection to UL® 1069 listed devices. The system programming is accessible to the user via the keys on the master station.

Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The direct-select nurse-call system master station(s) shall be Alpha Communications® / TekTone NC306 (50 station) or approved equal. The NC306 master station(s) shall include the necessary signaling circuitry and firmware to receive and answer calls from all patient, staff and duty stations, and to receive calls from code and emergency stations on the NC300II system, through direct selection. The master station interconnection shall be supervised. 

The master station shall provide for handset or loudspeaker communication. Function buttons with LED's shall be provided to initiate reset operations, staff emergency request, nurse request, audio paging and nurse follower operations. 

Individual LED indicators shall be provided for each room handled by the master station and shall be individually selectable by staff members. A serial port shall be available for connection to UL® 1069 listed devices. 

The user shall be able to access system programming via the keys on the master station and via the serial port, which will function with standard terminal emulation software running on a PC or laptop computer. 

The master station(s) shall be equipped with an integral handset, volume control, color-keyed function switches, talk/busy LED, call priority level LED's, 2.5" speaker and condenser microphone. The master station(s) shall also include a 50-button digital keypad for direct selection of stations, zone and station assignments. All switches shall be of spill-resistant membrane switch design. Adding an NC255 master expander shall provide an additional 50 station-selector buttons, for a maximum capacity of 100. 

Each NC306 master station shall be able to address up to 50 single or dual stations per system (100 when using the NC255 Master Station Expander), and up to 16 individual zones. The NC300II system shall support up to 4 NC306 master stations (or 3 when using the NC255 expanders). The master station(s) shall be UL® 1069 listed. 

The master station housing shall be of high impact, flame retardant type ABS type plastic; and shall be desk mounted.
