Architects' And Engineers' Specifications
The intercom amplifier shall be a Alpha Communications®/TekTone model PK292A or approved equal and shall provide amplification, control and power circuits needed to operate the entire intercom system. In conjunction with specifically designed handset intercom suite stations (TA292A or approved equal) and specifically designed entrance panels (AM229/AM449/AM629/AM649 or approved equal), the PK292A shall provide for all intercom system functions to be performed over one (1) common conductor and one (1) selective conductor. Both conductors shall be #22 AWG. The amplifier shall feature integrated circuit amplification, integrated circuit call tone oscillator, adjustable audio and tone volume controls. Unit will also provide for AC or DC door release operation selectable by terminal connection, and selectable delayed door timing of 10 or 20 seconds selected via the DIP switch. A steady or warble tone is available to identify a call from the entrance panel or a call button at suite entrance.

Low voltage wiring shall be used and plug-in type terminals shall be provided for installation wiring.

PK292A 2-Wire Apartment Amplifier/Power Supply
The Alpha Communications®/TekTone PK292A is a self contained Power Pack Amplifier which provides amplification, control and power circuits needed to operate a complete apartment intercom system. The PK292A is designed for use with TA292A 2-wire apartment handsets, and AM229/AM449/AM629/AM649 series entrance panels. Voice and tone volume controls are easily adjustable through the screwdriver slots on the front of the PK292A

Additional functions include multiple entrance operation with the PK502B, AC or DC door operation selectable by terminal connection, delayed action door release set via DIP switch, and post office door release. Steady or warble tones are available to identify call origin, either from main entrance or from a call button at suite entrance.
