Patient Station(s) shall be Alpha Communications®/TekTone IR251, IR252, or approved equal. The patient station(s) shall include solid state circuitry, yellow "CALL-PLACED" indicator(s), and combination red "IN-USE" indicator and "RESET" button. Single patient stations (IR251) shall include one 0.25" jack receptacle for patient's call cord. Dual patient stations (IR252) shall include two jacks.
The IR251 and IR252 shall provide for connection of smoke detectors, bath stations, and two bulb dome lights (LI382). The stations shall provide signaling (via central equipment) to the appropriate lamp(s) using the specific flash rate on the two bulbs dome light to indicate priority levels.
The stations shall utilize a 2.50" x 2.50" speaker/microphone for accurate voice reproduction. Removal of the call cord from the receptacle shall result in placing an emergency level call at the master station. The call can be reset only by replacing the call cord in its receptacle. All station components shall be mounted on an attractive flame retardant type ABS plastic faceplate. Connections shall be plug-in type.
The stations provide inputs for the connection of smoke detectors and bath stations. These devices, when activated, will provide the appropriate signalling to the two bulb light (LI382) that is also connected to the IR251/IR252.
Calling the nurse is accomplished by pressing the call button on the end of the call cord. Solid-state lights on the panel indicate the call has been placed and the intercom is in use.
If the cord is accidentally removed from its receptacle, the nurse master station will annunciate an emergency level call. The call may be rest only by returning the call cord to its receptacle.
