Central Equipment With Cabinet

Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The central equipment shall be Alpha Communications® / TekTone NC261A, NC262A, or approved equal, and shall be supervised (trouble indications shall be annunciated at the designated NC230/NC250 Nurse Master Station.) The NC261A/262 shall provide all of the micro-controller technology necessary (in conjunction with two (2) PM261A - 32 Station Selector Modules) necessary to add 64 station points to an NC205 Nurse Call system NC260B Central Equipment. The central equipment expander shall use digitized audio from the central equipment (allowing interference free audio for distances up to 2000' from the central equipment to central equipment expander).

The NC261A shall include one expander module, connection points for two (2) PM261A Selector Modules, and the necessary hardware to connect to the NC260B Central Equipment and NC262A Central Equipment Expander. The NC262A shall include one expander module, connection points for two PM261A Selector Modules, the necessary hardware to connect to an NC261A Central Equipment Expander, and a power supply to provide power for additional nurse call equipment. The NC262A shall be also provide connection for battery backup. The central equipment shall be housed in a metal case with provisions for plug-in field wiring directly to circuit boards.

The NC261A and NC262A shall be U.L. Listed 1069 to the latest 4th edition standards. Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical codes.

NC261A Central Equipment Expander

The NC261A Central Equipment Expander uses micro-controller technology (in conjunction with two PM261A Selector Modules) to provide the NC205 Nurse Call System NC260B Central Equipment with 64 additional station selector points. The central equipment expander uses digitized audio from the central equipment allowing interference free audio for distances up to 2000'.

In addition to the housing (IH261) and expander module, the central equipment expander also provides connection points for two (2) additional PM261A Selector Cards and the necessary hardware to connect to the NC260B Central Processing Equipment and NC262A Central Equipment Expander (for additional expansion).

The central unit is compact and may be located away from the master station console in a minimal amount of space.

NC262A Central Equipment Expander
The NC262A Central Equipment Expander provides the same electronics as the NC261A, but uses a larger housing (IH260) to provide room for an additional power supply needed. The NC262A also provides the necessary hardware to allow an additional NC261A to be connected to the system allowing the maximum capability of 250 stations.
