Staff emergency psychiatric station(s) shall be Alpha Communications® / TekTone SF338 or approved equal. Operation of all emergency signals shall be accomplished by depressing the centrally located push button switch designated "STAFF ASSIST". The switch shall be enabled only after activation of the key switch located on the associated IR316 psychiatric station. The red call-placed indicator on the SF338 shall flash to assure that the call has been properly placed. Call cancellation shall be possible only at the IR316 Psychiatric Station.
Reliable, solid state components shall be used and plug-in connectors shall be provided for electrical connections.
The SF338 shall be UL 1069 listed to the latest 4th Edition Standards. Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and building codes.
An emergency call can only be placed following activation of the key switch on the IR316 station, usually located at the entrance to the psychiatric or high security area. A call is placed by depressing the call push button. The call-placed indicator flashes to provide for call assurance. Calls are registered on the NC300 series master station (and duty station if used) via audible and visual signals, as well as local indication on dome lights. Call cancellation is possible only at the IR316 psychiatric station.
