VDS150 Duty Station (AlphaLinQ™ 100 series)

Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The Duty Stations shall be shall be Alpha Communications® AlphaLinQ™ 100 series model VDS150, or approved equal. Both visual and audible indication of normal and emergency call shall be provided. A solid state Red L.E.D. indicator shall provide a steady signal for normal calls and a flashing signal for emergency calls. A "Tone-Off" switch shall be provided to silence the buzzer for non-emergency calls only. The station(s) shall consist of reliable components mounted on a durable fire-retardant (UL® 94V-0) white plastic faceplate, and shall have positive screw terminals for electrical connections.

The Red "CALL PLACED" L.E.D. indicator shall flash to assure the patient that the call has been placed. Switching mechanism shall consist of a reliable DPDT switch.

All electronic components needed for these features shall be mounted on a printed circuit board and all station components shall be mounted an a rugged ABS plastic faceplate. The station(s) shall be installed in a single gang ring with square box. Plug-in connectors shall be provided for connections. The VDS150 shall be UL® 1069 Listed to the latest standards.

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and building codes.

VDS150 Duty Station

The Alpha Communications® VDS150 Duty Station provides an indication of incoming calls in work areas away from the Nurse Call Master Control Station(s).

Normal calls are indicated by a steady light and intermittent tone. Emergency calls take precedence and are indicated by a flashing solid state LED light and a pulsating tone. A "Tone-Off" slide switch permits silencing of the tone signal for normal calls only. All electronic components are mounted on a circuit board. The VDS150 features a built-in Red LED and electronic buzzer.

The VDS150 is used primarily with the AlphaLinQ™ 100 series visual nurse-call system, but can be used and is backwards compatible with some older systems as well. The VDS150 is U.L. 1069 listed, to the latest standards.
